Bmw X5 Silencer Or Back Box
Bmw X5 Silencer Or Back Box normally needs replacing first.
Fuel combustion in your Bmw X5 engine creates water vapour. As it passes along your Bmw X5's cold exhaust pipes it condenses back into liquid water.
Sulphur and Nitrogen Oxide gases passing through you Bmw X5's catalytic converter are absorbed by the water creating Acidic moisture that can attack the steel of your Bmw X5 exhaust.
Your Bmw X5 Silencer is the last part of the exhaust system to be heated and on short journeys may not heat up enough to eliminate the acidic condensation.
A problem with your Bmw X5 backbox will give a loud roaring noise as the silencer ceases to be effective.
If your Bmw X5 exhaust is rattling then a support bracket or rubber mount may have corroded or come loose. The rubber on your Bmw X5 exhaust hanger can become brittle and snap leaving your Bmw X5 exhaust system hanging loose.
Cracks in the exhaust pipes and failed gaskets, blockages all create unusual sounds so if you suspect that your exhaust is less than perfect it's best to have it checked.
