Citroen Performance Exhausts
Your Citroen Exhaust can be completely replaced or, depending upon condition we can replace any problem sections:
- Citroen Manifold
- Citroen Front Downpipe
- Citroen Centre Section
- Citroen Rear silencer box
Citroen Silencer Or Back Box
Citroen Silencer Or Back Box normally needs replacing first.
Fuel combustion in your Citroen engine creates water vapour. As it passes along your Citroen's cold exhaust pipes it condenses back into liquid water.
Sulphur and Nitrogen Oxide gases passing through you Citroen's catalytic converter are absorbed by the water creating Acidic moisture that can attack the steel of your Citroen exhaust.
Your Citroen Silencer is the last part of the exhaust system to be heated and on short journeys may not heat up enough to eliminate the acidic condensation.
A problem with your Citroen backbox will give a loud roaring noise as the silencer ceases to be effective.
If your Citroen exhaust is rattling then a support bracket or rubber mount may have corroded or come loose. The rubber on your Citroen exhaust hanger can become brittle and snap leaving your Citroen exhaust system hanging loose.
Cracks in the exhaust pipes and failed gaskets, blockages all create unusual sounds so if you suspect that your exhaust is less than perfect it's best to have it checked.
