Newcastle and Gateshead Ford Exhaust and Catalytic Converter Refit

Ford System Repairs

Ford Performance Exhausts

Your Ford Exhaust can be completely replaced or, depending upon condition we can replace any problem sections:

  • Ford Manifold
  • Ford Front Downpipe
  • Ford Centre Section
  • Ford Rear silencer box

Ford Silencer Or Back Box

Ford Silencer Or Back Box normally needs replacing first.
Fuel combustion in your Ford engine creates water vapour. As it passes along your Ford's cold exhaust pipes it condenses back into liquid water.

Sulphur and Nitrogen Oxide gases passing through you Ford's catalytic converter are absorbed by the water creating Acidic moisture that can attack the steel of your Ford exhaust.

Your Ford Silencer is the last part of the exhaust system to be heated and on short journeys may not heat up enough to eliminate the acidic condensation.

A problem with your Ford backbox will give a loud roaring noise as the silencer ceases to be effective.

If your Ford exhaust is rattling then a support bracket or rubber mount may have corroded or come loose. The rubber on your Ford exhaust hanger can become brittle and snap leaving your Ford exhaust system hanging loose.
Cracks in the exhaust pipes and failed gaskets, blockages all create unusual sounds so if you suspect that your exhaust is less than perfect it's best to have it checked.
