Mini Performance Exhausts
Your Mini Exhaust can be completely replaced or, depending upon condition we can replace any problem sections:
- Mini Manifold
- Mini Front Downpipe
- Mini Centre Section
- Mini Rear silencer box
Mini Silencer Or Back Box
Mini Silencer Or Back Box normally needs replacing first.
Fuel combustion in your Mini engine creates water vapour. As it passes along your Mini's cold exhaust pipes it condenses back into liquid water.
Sulphur and Nitrogen Oxide gases passing through you Mini's catalytic converter are absorbed by the water creating Acidic moisture that can attack the steel of your Mini exhaust.
Your Mini Silencer is the last part of the exhaust system to be heated and on short journeys may not heat up enough to eliminate the acidic condensation.
A problem with your Mini backbox will give a loud roaring noise as the silencer ceases to be effective.
If your Mini exhaust is rattling then a support bracket or rubber mount may have corroded or come loose. The rubber on your Mini exhaust hanger can become brittle and snap leaving your Mini exhaust system hanging loose.
Cracks in the exhaust pipes and failed gaskets, blockages all create unusual sounds so if you suspect that your exhaust is less than perfect it's best to have it checked.
