Saab System Repairs

Saab Performance Exhausts

Your Saab Exhaust can be completely replaced or, depending upon condition we can replace any problem sections:

  • Saab Manifold
  • Saab Front Downpipe
  • Saab Centre Section
  • Saab Rear silencer box

Saab Silencer Or Back Box

Saab Silencer Or Back Box normally needs replacing first.
Fuel combustion in your Saab engine creates water vapour. As it passes along your Saab's cold exhaust pipes it condenses back into liquid water.

Sulphur and Nitrogen Oxide gases passing through you Saab's catalytic converter are absorbed by the water creating Acidic moisture that can attack the steel of your Saab exhaust.

Your Saab Silencer is the last part of the exhaust system to be heated and on short journeys may not heat up enough to eliminate the acidic condensation.

A problem with your Saab backbox will give a loud roaring noise as the silencer ceases to be effective.

If your Saab exhaust is rattling then a support bracket or rubber mount may have corroded or come loose. The rubber on your Saab exhaust hanger can become brittle and snap leaving your Saab exhaust system hanging loose.
Cracks in the exhaust pipes and failed gaskets, blockages all create unusual sounds so if you suspect that your exhaust is less than perfect it's best to have it checked.
