Volvo Performance Exhausts
Your Volvo Exhaust can be completely replaced or, depending upon condition we can replace any problem sections:
- Volvo Manifold
- Volvo Front Downpipe
- Volvo Centre Section
- Volvo Rear silencer box
Volvo Silencer Or Back Box
Volvo Silencer Or Back Box normally needs replacing first.
Fuel combustion in your Volvo engine creates water vapour. As it passes along your Volvo's cold exhaust pipes it condenses back into liquid water.
Sulphur and Nitrogen Oxide gases passing through you Volvo's catalytic converter are absorbed by the water creating Acidic moisture that can attack the steel of your Volvo exhaust.
Your Volvo Silencer is the last part of the exhaust system to be heated and on short journeys may not heat up enough to eliminate the acidic condensation.
A problem with your Volvo backbox will give a loud roaring noise as the silencer ceases to be effective.
If your Volvo exhaust is rattling then a support bracket or rubber mount may have corroded or come loose. The rubber on your Volvo exhaust hanger can become brittle and snap leaving your Volvo exhaust system hanging loose.
Cracks in the exhaust pipes and failed gaskets, blockages all create unusual sounds so if you suspect that your exhaust is less than perfect it's best to have it checked.
